Explores the historical understanding of visitors walking on Country and the cultural obligations that Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people share when visiting Country.

Acknowledgement of Country, and its importance

The historical and cultural understanding of the respectful acknowledgement of being a visitor on someone else’s country.

Cultural Awareness Training

An essential understanding of the way Aboriginal cultures differ to Western culture, and how Aboriginal Culture is based on connections to land and lore. Will enable your company to work more effectively and productively with local Traditional owners.

Cultural Safety in the workplace

This program ensures there is a common understanding of proper protocol with regards to respect and reciprocity when working with First Nations people.

On Country Cultural Safety   

Explores the issue of cultural places and objects that should never be seen or touched. As a welcomed guest, you will be protected by the Elders and Traditional Owners

RAP Development & Mentoring

Carols’ process creates a true vehicle for change, starting with a ‘top-down’ commitment to change that must be owned by the entire organisation.

Contemporary Aboriginal Policies

Native Title and its Implications

Lore versus Law. An overview of the continuing effects of the 1992 Mabo High Court Decision, the development of the Native Title Act and how Land Rights for Aboriginal People in Australia affect relationships with western organisations, particularly mining companies.

Colonisation & Trauma Informed Practice  

Explores the traumatic impact of 5 generations of Colonisation on WA Aboriginal people, and the means by which we can learn to work effectively together to overcome the past.

Structural Racism and its impacts

A deep dive into Government Policies since colonisation and the enduring influence this has on Aboriginal people, including the Stolen generations, out-of-home care, incarceration rates, poverty, unemployment and breakdown of family systems.

Art Therapy Healing Sessions

With Carol’s caring guidance, participants with trauma and emotional distress can explore and explain their issues in a non-threatening way as they engage in artistic practices like painting and weaving. These expressive creative activities allow for a relaxed and stress-free place to release and deal with issues and concerns.

Upon request, a commissioned artwork – to be used later for company logos or other brand design graphic purposes – can be arranged. This can be done in collaboration with staff, clients, and other key stakeholders, such as students at your school.

Culturally safe counselling and ongoing emotional support, available in the workplace and after-hours by appointment

Critical incident debriefing   

Logistical debriefing after a critical incident in the workplace, and assistance with managing the process for all involved. Includes setting up a culturally safe peer support process.

Critical Incident Intervention

When an incident occurs, prior to referral to outside agencies, we ensure facts are intact, and best practice support is available to all concerned. This service is aimed at allegations of a sexual harassment nature or other sensitive matters that impact the workplace.

Assessment and coordination of Employees with the will to overcome addictions, and for the company to provide a reciprocal support mechanism to help valued staff.

Organisational Cultural
Health Check

A strategic planning workshop to identify culturally unsafe practices, and so mitigate potentially toxic and psychologically hazardous workplaces. We effectively determine Cultural Safety through an audit of policies, including staff onboarding and HR systems.
